Youth Education

Sunday School

Is a wonderful way to teach our children about the Bible where we meet our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Faith Lutheran holds Sunday School classes from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. each Sunday throughout the school year for children ages 3 through high school. Sunday School begins with the pre-kindergarten through sixth grade children gathering together for singing and prayers. After that the children break into classes by age groupings for lessons. Junior High and High School classes involve study and spirited discussions as students learn to apply Christian teachings to their own lives with the guidance of their teachers.

Confirmation Class

Many parents bring children to be baptized; claiming God’s love and promises for them. As these young people grow, we teach them more about the faith in which they have been baptized. Confirmation is a chance for them to claim that faith for themselves. It is a two year course of study for seventh, eighth and sometimes ninth graders. Classes meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. during the school year. The focus of these classes is on the Bible, the Apostles Creed, the Ten Commandments and the Lord’s prayer. Along with learning activities, the group has lots of fun with fellowship activities, service times, retreats, and other faith experiences. Upon the successful completion of Confirmation classes, the young people are confirmed into full membership of Faith Lutheran Church at a special worship service that is a highlight of the church calendar.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer we gather the first Saturday in August for an exciting Bible School, with Bible Stories, music, games, and crafts. Amidst the fun, Bible School offers age-appropriate programs for preschoolers (3 year-olds) through fifth grade to learn the Good News of Jesus Christ and his saving work in our lives and our world.

This years, Super Saturday VBS will be Saturday, August 6th, 2016, from 9am-2pm. The theme is: ‘CAMP CREATION’. We will have stories, games, crafts, music, and lots of fun and fellowship! Lunch will be served also! It includes hot dogs, campfire veggies, and dirt stew for dessert.

This year we have on-line registration!

We will also have same day registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. on August 6th.

Visitors are welcome and expected. You do not have to be a member of Faith Lutheran to bring a child to these groups.

Adult Education

Adult Sunday School

Pastor John leads the Adult Sunday School Class on Sunday mornings from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. The adult class meets in the fellowship hall, and shares in study and informal conversation about Bible texts and living our faith. Visitors are always welcome and expected. Parents are welcome to bring their kids to the basement for their classes, and join the adult class upstairs. Adult classes are a good place to talk through questions of faith, and how we live as Christians in our everyday lives.

Thursday Bible Study

This group meets to share in God’s Word. We gather each week on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Group members take turns leading sessions from Augsburg Adult Bible Study which works through the Bible over a six year span. All are welcome to come share in lively conversation and good company. We never know quite what will happen in the group!
