Missions and Service

The Missions Team at Faith Lutheran Church is a vibrant group of servant-minded individuals with a passion for sharing God’s word and love. The members of the Missions Team raise money to support a wide array of projects including sending mission workers to spread the good news. Recent mission trips have included China, India and Guatemala. The Missions program also donates generously to the less fortunate in our own community through gifts to food pantries, building projects and volunteering in food kitchens. They raise money for Habitat for Humanity and the Women’s Pregnancy Center.

Mission Trips

High School youth attend week-long mission trips to states and areas in need of assistance.  The group meets with others youth from all over the country to provide home repairs, disaster clean up and working with children.  These are unforgettable experiences that help youth understand and appreciate the meaning of service to our Lord.

ELCA Youth Gatherings

High School youth may also attend ELCA Youth Gatherings.  Here they will be met by 35,000 other Lutheran youth from across the country and the world for worship, learning, fellowship and service projects.

Be Like Jesus

Third through Sixth graders get to take part in the Be Like Jesus Servant Event each year. This is an overnight retreat with many other kids from Northern Conference churches, gathering to sing, serve and have fun together.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Our Prayer Shawl Team knits or crochets shawls and lap roves as a sign of our prayers and concern for people at difficult times in their lives.  The crafters start their work with a pray to bless the recipient and continue to pray as the work.  In this way, the recipient is wrapped in warmth and prayer as a reminder of the love we share in Jesus.
